Alucraft Systems (UK), part of Alucraft Group, has acquired certain assets of Façade and Glazing Solutions (UK) Limited (“FGS”), including its 3,000m² manufacturing facility in Rotherham, UK. FGS entered into administration in early January 2020. Since then the management of Alucraft Systems (UK), has worked with the former employees and administrator to secure a deal for the facility and its assets.

Alucraft is owned by Elaghmore, the UK-based private equity firm, which acquired the Company in 2018. Elaghmore has provided financial support for the acquisition.

Alucraft plans to reopen the FGS facility with an initial 19 employees. The ambition is to expand the workforce as Alucraft Group secures new work. Alucraft Group includes Alucraft – Dublin, Williaam Cox, and Alucraft Systems – UK. The Group is closely aligned with English Architectural Glazing (“EAG”). EAG was acquired by Elaghmore in 2019.

The addition of the newly acquired FGS facility will support the Group’s ambitious growth plans and provide a significant additional increased aluminum fabrication capacity. Alucraft plans to further increase this capacity during 2020, to support the Group’s existing operations. Overall, the aim is for the facility to become a centre of excellence for unitised façade fabrication alongside other fabrication activities. Furthermore, in addition to working on Alucraft’s projects across the UK and Ireland, the facility will be made available to third parties on commercial terms.

The acquisition is another milestone in the history of Alucraft. Founded in 1975, Alucraft has earned a reputation for delivering first-class quality service to its customers and provided facades to many high-profile construction projects. In Dublin, these include the Vertium Building, the new headquarters for Amazon, the headquarters of Lidl Ireland and LinkedIn EMEA, as well as No 1 Georges Quay and the National Rehabilitation Hospital. In the UK, Alucraft has worked on major buildings such as the Gateway Building at Salford University, Byron House in Nottingham, Tata Steel in Birmingham, Lancaster University Innovation Hub and currently delivering flagship projects such as Bath University School of Management and Birmingham University School of Engineering.
